Our first guest on Transcending Sport in 2020 is Gen Simmons Deputy Chair of Women Sport Australia. The WSA is the primary advocacy organization for women and girls in sport in Australia providing the lead voice for gender equity nationwide.  Their mission is to ensure women and girls in sport are afforded equal opportunity regardless of sport while representing their members and bringing stakeholders together. Australia has recently led the way for equal pay as its elite athletes in cricket and soccer have shown how women can and should be treated not just on national teams but at all levels of sport.  We discuss the main achievements of the organization as it approaches its 16th anniversary and what’s in store for them in this new decade.
