Hey Dungeon Masters, warlock patrons are wonderful entities to pull into your Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, as full blown BBEGs or secondary villains, allies, or even just color. But before you pull the trigger on building your campaign elements around these entities, do one thing first: talk to your Warlock player! Not every Warlock player will be as excited or even on board at all with these decisions. Because a patron is so intricately and intimately connected to both the mechanical and fictional powers of a character, the player playing that character deserves some say in if and how these elements are engaged with. Have that conversation! It's the right thing to do.
