Today is the second day of Kwanzaa for December 27th! KUJICHAGULIA. "To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves." This is one of my favorite principles of Kwanzaa. Growing up, I had to recite this particular principle during our week long celebration of Kwanzaa. Our mentor would take us around from church to church in the evening to do Kwanzaa programs and we even appeared on TV during time of year. My sister and I enjoyed this festive celebration because we were able to see so many youth from around our city come together and celebrate. I’m going to share how Uncle Luke, OutKast and Goodie Mob actually have lyrics that correlate to this particular principle.
