Regina Ferguson is an artist based in Topanga Canyon, California, “she magically blends rock and roll with western music to create a distinct and original sound”. (LA Weekly)
Regina is no stranger to the stage, her music career took off in Charleston, South Carolina before she made the bold move to Los Angeles to work with some of the best talent in the industry. She’s quickly making a name for herself in the thriving country and Americana music scenes of Los Angeles. Her musical style has continued to evolve, and fans eagerly await her debut album, Fortune, which is set to release this fall.
Fortune was recorded at Infinitespin Studio in Los Angeles with producer Matt Linesch. The entire album was recorded on a Studer 24-track tape machine, fully analog with no digital editing. “It is the nostalgia of the old sound and the upbeat story-telling style that no music lover can resist”. Regina’s raw, powerful vocals cut straight through the tape and her ability to write music worthy of her world class session players cannot be overlooked. Tracking live with the band in the studio gives her music a pulse that can only be achieved in this organic manner. Among others, Griffin Goldsmith (Dawes) and Brett Simons (Chicago) laid the foundation with Aaron Embry on piano and organ, as well as other various instruments and Ben Peeler on pedal steel and lap guitars, both of whom currently tour with Jakob Dylan and The Wallflowers.
