Today’s guest is Remi Burgz, host of BBC 1Xtra's Weekend Breakfast Show and rapper Shaybo’s official DJ. The radio personality’s die-hard love for Afrobeats (she’s Nigerian) is no secret and her infectious energy has earned her the nickname ‘The Local Energy Provider’. When she’s not hosting festivals, and LGBTQIA+ safe events as part of Rêveur Collective, or supporting Manchester United, she also shouts out emerging artists in ‘Remi’s Recognition’ – a series she writes for Sistem Magazine. This conversation took place in person ahead of our England vs Scotland match watchalong in central London.
