In 1997 Heidi Kühn launched the nonprofit Roots of Peace which removes landmines in conflict areas of the world and replants the fields with crops, putting people to work, providing a source of food, education and commerce, and saving lives. Her memoir is "Breaking Ground." Bonny Meyer started Napa Valley's acclaimed Silver Oak Cellars in the 1970s with husband, Justin Meyer. In her book "Perfectly Paired," she shares the experience of coping through the grief of widowhood and find new purpose.
