After her own breast cancer diagnosis at 35, April Stearns was very alone for a number of years until she met another real-life survivor who was also diagnosed under 45. Meeting her changed everything for April, and opened up her eyes to the fact that young women with breast cancer need resources that are specific to their age and station in life. Since then April has made it her life's work to help women who were diagnosed at a young age tell their stories so that others will feel less alone.
