So I would not argue that Purple and Scarlet are two different colors. We do not know what people in the past considered Purple or Scarlet. But even if they used the terms exactly as we do, if you shoe someone a color they may say anything close enough. Burgundy, Lavender, Violet, Raspberry These are all PURPLE.
