Writer-producer-director Robert Meyer Burnett rails against cancel culture in this episode of ROBSERVATIONS. Why aren’t people more forgiving of others and what lies behind prejudices and the emerging cancel culture trend?

RMB then takes a deep dive into the “cancellation” of Dr. Suess by a Virginia School System who dropped the deceased author’s work from the state’s “Read Across America Day” program. (http://bit.ly/3r5IoEr) Is this political correctness run amok? Are we going to get rid of our cultural history because so much of our art and literature reflects a cultural bias? RMB advocates that we “own” our past cultural biases rather than try to erase the artwork, literature and other cultural works that may (or may not) reflect those biases.

The takeaway … “We need to be better. If you are hurt by these things so badly, the problem is YOUR problem, not ours.” RMB makes the point that an imperfect people came from an imperfect history. Instead of tearing things down, let’s try to build something new and better.

He also shares letters from fellow Imagination Connoisseurs and answers questions from fans in the livestream chat.
