HOW TO LOVE

Ephesians 5:1-2
Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behaviour from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.

You want to understand love? Then learn it from the God who is Love.
God has given us everything of Himself regardless of where we are at the moment:

Sinner, godly baby, godly matured, neither here nor there, God has given you His love.

Before you ever heard of Him, He has loved you unconditionally. His heart revealing His desire for us all, Glory.

1 John 4:9-12
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

So how can you love?

Using Ephesians 3:16-19
1. You can only love right if you have His Spirit:

'That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.'

2. By allowing His dwelling take root in you

'That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith: that ye, being rooted and grounded in love.'

3. Knowing Him through intentional intimacy:

'that you may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height.'

4. Have an expectation of His experiences:

'And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.'

To know How to love right requires you have experienced His Love towards you and understand what that Love means.

So what is Love?

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

In one simple sentence, Love is God so if you want to Love right, just give God and you can only do that if you truly know Him.

I pray that as you mature in Him, the fruits you reveal of Him will be true to the Person of Him - Love, in Jesus name, amen.
