WEEK 8: DAY 3
BARREN PURSUIT OF DARKNESS

Aka UNPRODUCTIVE BUSYNESS

Ephesians 5:15-17
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

There is no true wisdom outside of God as there is no true productivity outside of His Will. If you think the scale of fulfilled days are money, fame or glorified celebration, then think again.

The scale of our fulfilled days on earth is simply how well your walk has been in alignment with His will.

So how busy have you been? Doing what?

Rat race? Pursuit of momentary happiness? Or over time trials and error in shadowing others?

Haggai 1:5-9
Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways. You have sown much, and harvested little. You eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes. “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways. Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may be glorified, says the Lord. You looked for much, and behold, it came to little. And when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? declares the Lord of hosts. Because of my house that lies in ruins, while each of you busies himself with his own house.

When all you think of is simply a circle of you, then you have been thinking small. God's kingdom is beyond one individual and it serves more than one person.

I admonish you today to start thinking beyond yourself and start walking with this mindset of your role in His kingdom and responsibilities to the progression of His righteousness.

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Priority matters in our walk of life. What you prioritize tells what steps you take always even when it counts the most.

Isaiah 55:1-2
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.

Are you worried you may miss out if you don't get busy with activities that don't count? You shouldn't worry because in this kingdom, everything has been provided for.

If you want to spend, spend on bread that satisfies and this is achievable simply through listening - an intimacy of relationship with His Spirit.

Psalm 127:2
It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Make a decision to be His Beloved by how you live your life. Live it in worship each day and every step as you find rest in Him.

I pray today that your life starts to count in fulfilment for the kingdom and His righteousness in Jesus name, Amen.
