I use to do the something as a kid however my local video store rented laser discs and I was given an old hand me down laser disc to source my copies. No tracking problems, no Macrovision to bust. If recorded in 2-hour mode, my copies looked just as good a store bought VHS tape and best off all was that they were widescreen. I even was able to master the timing of the VHS pause button the perfectly edit out the laser disc’s side changes. I had dreams of upgrading to an S-VHS recorder but was never able to save up enough money.
