OK, so do they really cause swarms of flies to appear? Can they make people have wounds, vomit, talk in other languages, etc.? So in other words, does it ever really happen that the things that happened in the exorcist actually happen to people who are "possessed" by a demon?

same with Catholic incense and holy water- intention and faith is necessary for anything to work, but other things such as sage can be effective used in the same way.
