National's leader says his party wants to support the foreign fighters bill, but it needs strengthening.
It's designed to deal with people trying to get back to New Zealand after fighting for extremist groups.
There has been confusion between National and the Justice Minister's office over where the opposition stands on the bill.
But Simon Bridges told Mike Hosking the bill needs to fully protect Kiwis.
"One example of the current bill not being up to scratch is the age limit of 18, which he needs to be lower."
