Green Party MP Chloe Swarbrick has drafted a member's bill which would seek to ban alcohol advertisements.
The bill would ban alcohol advertisements across the board, including sports team sponsorships.
It's hoped the bill would reduce the glamorisation and normalisation of alcohol.  
Swarbrick told Kate Hawkesby alcohol is associated with a range of social harms.
“ACC reports that alcohol is associated with one in four traffic offences, in in two serious violence offences, one in five traffic crashes.”
