Children's accents may be changing based on their favourite TV Show.
Some US parents believe due to an increased use of TV over the pandemic, they've been seeing a sudden rise in their kids replicating the accents of programmes they're watching.
New York University research has showed kids are developing British accents after a glut of Peppa Pig watching during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Some experts are sceptical of the theory.
Speech and language specialist Catherine Campbell told Mike Hosking accents are generally influenced by children's peer groups.
“They will assimilate with the local accent, then once you get to that age of about 18, your accent's barely set in concrete.”
Campbell says parents shouldn’t be worried, as TV shows are one of our many influences on speech.
