A small Southland town is fighting to save its maternity centre and says its plight could soon echo across the country.
The Lumsden Maternity Centre is considering a judicial review or walking away from Southern DHB over plans to axe its birthing services.
Director Carrie Adams told Larry Williams it is not just about little old Lumsden.
"We can't isolate this to Southland, this is a rural New Zealand issue and we can't be vain to think that this is just about Southland."
