A helping hand for New Zealand's summer events scene.
The Government will cover 90 percent of unrecoverable costs for paid, ticketed events for more than five thousand vaccinated people, if they're cancelled or postponed due to Covid.
The scheme will run from mid-December to April next year.
Promoters Association president Brent Eccles told Mike Hosking there's been concern from the industry the past few weeks, over the cost to prep events they don't know will go ahead.
He said they back the Government’s double vaccination policy for attending festivals over Summer but getting the acts into the country isn't easy.
"MIQ is a real problem.”
