On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we pay a visit to the ‘disciple that Jesus loved’, the apostle John, and we see the incredibly critical role that he played not only in the early Church but how his writings make the perfect bookend to what the Holy Spirit wrote through our apostle Paul whose doctrine is obviously 100% Church Age. John is a type of the New Testament Christian in the Church Age, showing how entrance is made for the born again believer into the spiritual kingdom of the Kingdom of God. John is the only apostle still standing at the cross as Jesus speaks His last words before ‘giving up the ghost’, and John is also the only one still standing after all the other apostles have been executed. John is a type of a Church Age Christian who never dies and makes it all the way to the Pretribulation Rapture. Join us as we rightly divide the gospel of John to see why it belongs with Paul, and not Matthew, Mark or Luke. The fact that there is even a controversy about the gospel of John may come as a surprise for some, others will be well acquainted with the topic at hand. There are those in the Body of Christ today that assert that John’s gospel was written to the Jews, and as such, being born again is for Israel and not for the Church. But as you will soon see, that idea will not stand up as we rightly divide what John wrote, and see where the verses will fall.
