A SUPERHEATED blast from the skies obliterated the area northeast of the Dead Sea about 3,700 years ago. Radiocarbon dating and minerals that instantly crystallized at high temperatures may have given us the physical proof of the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Dr. Phillip Silvia of Trinity Southwest University is the Field Supervisor and Director of Scientific Analysis for the Tall el-Hammam Excavation Project, working with a dig in Jordan about five miles from Mount Nebo that he believes is the site of ancient Sodom.
