This week we present part 1/2 of our interview with Dr. Michelle Malborough, Adult Psychiatrist and Investigative Coroner in London, ON! We discuss her nursing background and transition to medicine, her practice in general, and her focus on PTSD in first-responders and others who face operational stress injuries. We also dive into her role of Investigative Coroner, exploring what the position entails, what kind of training is involved, and how to cope with the emotional toll that these sorts of position can take on healthcare workers. We later discuss how COVID-19 has impacted her role and patient population, and the expected PTSD that will likely following this pandemic for many individuals.
