Dr. Veronica Franklin, an inter-relational behavioral health clinician and Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity with Refresh Mental Health joins Eating Disorders: Navigating Recovery to talk barriers to treatment, the intersection of eating disorders and the GBLTIA+ and minority communities, myths about eating disorders, and her own story of recovery.
Dr. Franklin She is the co-author of “Working Against the Odds: The Support Needs of Successful African American Women” and “An Exploratory Grounded Theory Study of the Factors that Influence African American Women’s Decision to Pursue Counseling” and is a subject expert addressing race, inclusion and diversity in the Washington DC. Dr. Franklin has taught English as a Fulbright scholar in Vienna, Austria, coached professional basketball in Taiwan, and played professionally in Brazil and the WNBA.
As an academic and behavioral health mentor Dr. Franklin work is designed to develop inter-relationship healing between professionals, their clients, the lay person and specifically for the social and racially underserved communities.
