Leslie is joined by Hina Shamsi, Director of the ACLU’s National Security Project, where she works on issues including drones, accountability for torture, and Guantanamo Bay.

She is one of the lawyers representing Mohamedou Slahi in his court case to be set free.

Leslie and Hina discuss Mohamedou Slahi's new book, ‘Guantanamo Diary,’ the first book written by a Gitmo prisoner. The New York Times' Mark Danner calls it "a profound account by a current detainee of what it's like to be collateral damage in the war against terror."

According to England's "Daily Mail" publication, Mohamedou Slahi "swore allegiance to al-Qaeda after travelling to Afghanistan in the 1990s and fought against the Soviet Union-backed regime, but claims he left the group in 1992."
