Byron Lane was Carrie Fisher's personal assistant for many years. He got closer to her and experienced her intimate day to day life, like no other. He sits with America's Podcaster, Kurt Caceres, to share his journey, that of which is all detailed in his newly released book, A Star is Bored. His first encounter with her mother, Debbie Reynolds, he described her in real life, just as she was on screen, not an actor, but a movie star. Byron has written screenplays and musicals for stage, but he says by far that writing a book is the toughest and most demanding. He describes his process to writing and helps others understand the different approaches and techniques for those also interested in telling their own stories. It can be a daunting task, like Stephen King once said, "it's like crossing the Atlantic ocean in a bathtub".
