Während sich die Gerüchte überschlagen, hat sich Elena Blake um die Einrichtung eines Hauptquartiers für sich, ihre Katzen und neuen Freunde gekümmert. Peter Daxley kehrte zu den Mönchen von Fuji zurück. Dort war es in seiner Abwesenheit zu dramatischen Ereignissen gekommen. Victor St. Clair ist bei den Nachforschungen zu seiner Vergangenheit auf einige interessante Details gestoßen.
