Karel: Silence Social Noise While Covid Rages

Karel says today it's time to Silence Social Noise While Covid Rages. Why? Because if you Silence Social Noise While Covid Rages it will be for your own good, that's why. The noise just appears to be too much and people are turning in to Twidiots. I know, I became one yesterday in my exchange with Boy George. But it brings about a bigger issue, the issue of everyone is just making noise on social media these days, sound over substance. It's a thought provoking editorial, which is featured here at the site as well.

Covid Rages

The numbers are in and they are not good. Covid is raging everywhere, with a few hot spots. California, Nevada, and 17 other states are all breaking records.

What does this mean? It means the United States is headed for at least another year of needless suffering and loss. Here's just a sample of the news:

California now has the most confirmed coronavirus infections of any state, surpassing New York, as an ongoing statewide spike in the number of infections has pushed its overall case count past 413,000.

As of Wednesday morning, data from Johns Hopkins University showed California had reported about 1,100 more cumulative COVID-19 cases than New York — which was besieged by the virus in the early spring but has since seen the numbers of newly confirmed infections, deaths and hospitalizations drop dramatically.

California, however, is trending in the opposite direction.

Shortly after noon Wednesday, Gov. Gavin Newsom said that 12,807 new coronavirus infections had been reported in the past 24 hours — a record high — bringing the state’s total to 413,576.
