You've pointed out a very important principle (equality of the opportunity to participate) that's missing from today's economic system and the economic policies that derive from a defective framework. If most people can only participate in the economy through their labor, while at the same time robotics and artificial intelligence are eliminating their jobs, then they will have no way to produce and earn market-determined incomes. The only option will be to redistribute incomes through the government (for example, via a "Universal Basic Income." Guess what happens when the majority of citizens become dependent on the politicians and corporate elite? Again, it's "Own or be Owned."
