I watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife last night with my kids. I have a soft spot for the franchise being one of those 80s that grew up with it. And, I loved this film! Thank you for analyzing it. And, I agree, this is brilliant screen writing. As a screenwriter, I recognized all the beats and all the tricks. But, it was so well executed. I saw the emotional moments and beats coming, but I was still emotionally moved by them. Yes, there were legitimate and well earned tears at the end. What I loved most about this film was that it really was the story of the family, and leaving the focus and the main story about the kids is what made seeing the film through a new set of eyes so refreshing. The casting was brilliant.
