Loneliness is a major issue in our country today. It's close to an 8 Billion dollar issue. Here are some possible reasons. A huge, 45 percent, of Americans are single today, and 25 percent of all Americans live alone. When others are with their families, this can be a very painful, emotional trigger for those who are alone. Almost 20 percent of singles are over 65, this is when poor health along with increased age, decreased mobility can make it even difficult to enjoy yourself.
