Números 20: La fatal imprudencia de Moisés.
Números 20:1-13 RVA2015:
Toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel llegó al desierto de Zin, en el mes primero, y el pueblo acampó en Cades. Allí murió María, y allí fue sepultada. Como no había agua para la congregación, se reunieron contra Moisés y Aarón. El pueblo contendía contra Moisés diciendo: —¡Ojalá nos hubiéramos muerto cuando perecieron nuestros hermanos delante del SEÑOR! ¿Por qué has traído la congregación del SEÑOR a este desierto, para que muramos aquí nosotros y nuestro ganado? ¿Por qué nos has hecho subir de Egipto para traernos a este lugar tan malo? Este no es un lugar de sembrados ni de higueras ni de viñas ni de granados. ¡Ni siquiera hay agua para beber! Moisés y Aarón se fueron de delante de la congregación hasta la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión, y se postraron sobre sus rostros. Entonces se les apareció la gloria del SEÑOR. Y habló el SEÑOR a Moisés diciendo: —Toma la vara, y tú y Aarón tu hermano reúnan a la congregación y hablen a la roca ante los ojos de ellos. Ella dará agua. Sacarás agua de la roca para ellos, y darás de beber a la congregación y a su ganado. Moisés tomó la vara de delante del SEÑOR, como él le había mandado. Luego Moisés y Aarón reunieron a la congregación delante de la roca, y él les dijo: —¡Escuchen, rebeldes! ¿Sacaremos para ustedes agua de esta roca? Entonces Moisés levantó su mano y golpeó la roca con su vara dos veces. Y salió agua abundante, de modo que bebieron la congregación y su ganado. Luego el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés y a Aarón: —Por cuanto no creyeron en mí, para tratarme como santo ante los ojos de los hijos de Israel, por eso ustedes no introducirán esta congregación en la tierra que les he dado. Estas son las aguas de Meriba, porque allí contendieron los hijos de Israel contra el SEÑOR, y él manifestó su santidad entre ellos.

Aquí vemos un capítulo con una sensación agridulce.
Primero vemos al pueblo, una vez más, quejándose en el desierto al pasar por la necesidad de agua. Moisés viene ante la presencia del Señor, y el Señor le ordena hacer un milagro que nunca él había hecho delante del pueblo.
Dios fue específico al decirle a Moisés que le hable a la roca dándole la orden y la roca brotará agua.
Ese milagro era parecido a uno que al principio Moisés hizo y fue cuando le pegó a la roca con la vara. Esta vez debía solamente hablarle.
Moisés, frustrado por la actitud de ellos y seguro que Dios podía darles agua de la roca, toma la decisión equivocada de golpear la roca dos veces.
Aunque Dios les concedió el milagro de brotar agua de la roca, el Señor se disgustó con Moisés por su actitud desafiante a la orden del Señor. Moisés se dejó llevar por la mala actitud del pueblo y lo hizo con una actitud incorrecta. En ese momento ya no era el Moisés que con mansedumbre quería que Dios se glorificara en el pueblo. En cierta forma lo hizo quitándole la gloria a Dios al decir "¿Sacaremos para ustedes agua de esta roca?" Asumiendo que eran ellos los que tenían la potestad de hacerlo.
Es por eso que cuando Dios te da un don o un ministerio espiritual, nunca debemos actuar como si fuera nosotros mismos los que hacemos las cosas que se hacen con los dones de Dios. Nunca debemos quitarle el mérito a Dios.
Cuando uno sirve al Señor, Dios hace cosas grandes con esa persona que se pone en las manos de Dios como un vaso útil. Uno sabe que Dios es el que le da a uno la gracia, el conocimiento, la autoridad, el talento. El problema es cuando uno se va apropiando de los logros y el impacto grandioso que uno encuentra en la presencia de Dios.
Tengamos cuidado de olvidar de donde proviene la fuente de la bendición y a quién servimos. No olvidemos que solo somos instrumentos en las manos de Dios y que el único que debe ser glorificado es Él.
Al final, Moisés y Aarón perdieron el privilegio de entrar a la tierra prometida y, aunque le rogó al Señor que lo dejara entrar, Dios no le pasó por alto esta acción de deshonra.
También quiero añadir que nosotros como creyentes debemos tener cuidado y ayudar a nuestro líderes con nuestro comportamiento para no hacerle la carga más difícil de lo que ellos están llevando. Que seamos un apoyo para nuestro pastor, en vez de una carga, y orar mucho por él para que su espíritu nunca se amargue y así no tome alguna acción precipitada que ofenda al Señor.
Salmos 106:32-33 dice: "También le indignaron en las aguas de Meriba y por causa de ellos le fue mal a Moisés; porque hicieron que su espíritu se amargara y él habló precipitadamente con sus labios."

Numbers 20:1-13:
Then the children of Israel, the whole congregation, came into the Wilderness of Zin in the first month, and the people stayed in Kadesh; and Miriam died there and was buried there.
Now there was no water for the congregation; so they gathered together against Moses and Aaron. And the people contended with Moses and spoke, saying: “If only we had died when our brethren died before the Lord! Why have you brought up the assembly of the Lord into this wilderness, that we and our animals should die here? And why have you made us come up out of Egypt, to bring us to this evil place? It is not a place of grain or figs or vines or pomegranates; nor is there any water to drink.” So Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell on their faces. And the glory of the Lord appeared to them.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.” So Moses took the rod from before the Lord as He commanded him.
And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?” Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”
This was the water of Meribah, because the children of Israel contended with the Lord, and He was hallowed among them.

Here we see a chapter with a bittersweet feeling.
First we see the people, once again, complaining in the desert as they go through the need for water.
Moses comes before the presence of the Lord, and the Lord orders him to perform a miracle that he had never performed before the people.
God was specific in telling Moses to speak to the rock giving it the command and the rock will sprout water.
That miracle was similar to one that Moses did in the beginning and that was when he hit the rock with the rod. This time he just had to talk to her.
Moses, perhaps frustrated by their attitude and sure that God could give them water from the rock, makes the wrong decision to hit the rock twice.
Although God granted them the miracle of water flowing from the rock, the Lord was displeased with Moses for his defiance of the Lord's command. Moses was carried away by the bad attitude of the people and he did it with the wrong attitude. At that moment he was no longer the Moses who meekly wanted God to glorify Himself in the people. In a way, he did it by taking the glory away from God by saying "Shall we draw water for you out of this rock?" Assuming that they were the ones who had the power to do it.
That is why when God gives you a gift or a spiritual ministry, we should never act as if we are the ones who do the things that are done with the gifts of God.
When one serves the Lord, God does great things with that person who places himself in God's hands as a useful vessel. One knows that God is the One who gives one the grace, the knowledge, the authority, the talent. The problem is when one takes ownership of the achievements and the great impact that one finds in the presence of God.
Let us be careful not to forget where the source of blessing comes from and whom we serve. Let us not forget that we are only instruments in the hands of God and that the only one who should be glorified is Him.
In the end, Moses and Aaron lost the privilege of entering the promised land and, although he begged the Lord to let him enter, God did not overlook this act of dishonor.
I also want to add that we as believers must be careful and help our leaders with our behavior so as not to make the burden more difficult for them than they are carrying. Let us be a support to our pastor, instead of a burden, and pray a lot for him so that his spirit never becomes bitter and so he does not take any rash action that offends the Lord.
Psalms 106:32-33 says: “They angered Him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses on account of them; because they rebelled against His Spirit, so that he spoke rashly with his lips.”
