Números 18: Dios Afirma el Ministerio Sacerdotal.

Números 18:1-7:
1 El SEÑOR dijo a Aarón: “Tú, tus hijos y tu casa paterna contigo cargarán con las ofensas contra el santuario. Y tú y tus hijos contigo cargarán con las ofensas contra el sacerdocio de ustedes. 2 Haz también que se acerquen a ti tus hermanos, la tribu de Leví, la tribu de tu padre. Ellos te acompañarán y te servirán, mientras tú y tus hijos contigo sirven delante del tabernáculo del testimonio. 3 Ellos cumplirán lo que tú ordenes y lo que ha sido ordenado con respecto a todo el tabernáculo, pero no se acercarán a los utensilios del santuario ni al altar, para que no mueran ellos y ustedes. 4 Ellos te acompañarán y tendrán el cuidado del tabernáculo de reunión en todo el servicio del tabernáculo. Ningún extraño se ha de acercar a ustedes.
5 “Ustedes tendrán el cuidado del santuario y el cuidado del altar, para que no haya más ira contra los hijos de Israel. 6 He aquí, yo he tomado a sus hermanos, los levitas, de entre los hijos de Israel, y se los he dado como un donativo; son dados al SEÑOR, para llevar a cabo el servicio del tabernáculo de reunión. 7 Pero tú y tus hijos contigo cumplirán con su sacerdocio en todo asunto relacionado con el altar, y servirán del velo adentro. Yo les entrego su sacerdocio como servicio y obsequio, pero el extraño que se acerque será muerto”.

Ayer miramos el milagro que Dios hizo para establecer el ministerio sacerdotal de Aarón delante del pueblo para que no dudaran más.
La vara de Aarón floreció y fue puesta dentro del arca del pacto, junto con el maná y las tablas de la ley.

En este capítulo el Señor afirma y restablece la responsabilidad tan grande que tiene el sacerdote llevando las faltas del pueblo
El pueblo estaba asustado por tanta mortandad que estaba ocurriendo en el pueblo por causa de la rebeldía contra Dios. Es por eso que Dios les afirmó a ellos que el medio para que ellos no sean destruidos era ir donde el sacerdote para que él ofrezca perdón por ellos con los sacrificios adecuados.
Como ellos rechazaron a Aarón y esto les causó la muerte; ahora ellos tenían que entender que Dios puso a Aarón con un propósito, y es para que ellos no murieran cada vez que pecaran contra el Señor porque tenían un intercesor para que el pueblo no pereciera por causa del pecado.
También el Señor estableció a los levitas como un regalo de Dios para el pueblo; esto lo hizo para que los mismos levitas vean su gran responsabilidad delante de Dios, recordando que ellos le pertenecen al Señor y también para que el pueblo los respeten y los cuiden.
Es por eso que Dios les mostró la forma en que ellos serían sustentados, con las ofrendas de los sacrificios y con los diezmos de las cosechas. De esta forma ellos estarían dedicados para poder interceder por los pecados del pueblo continuamente en el tabernáculo.

¡Hoy en día nosotros tenemos el camino abierto! ¡El camino de la vida y la verdad, el camino hacia la redención de nuestros pecados! Ahora, cada predicador se convierte en un sacerdote que nos guía al arrepentimiento y el perdón de nuestros pecados cuando nos habla de Jesucristo.
Así como el sacerdote llevaría las cargas del pueblo y sus ofensas delante de Dios, Jesucristo lo hizo cuando llevó nuestras faltas como podemos leer en Hebreos 4:15: “Porque no tenemos un sumo sacerdote que no pueda compadecerse de nuestras debilidades, sino uno que fue tentado en todo según nuestra semejanza, pero sin pecado.”

Y esa es la labor del pastor en la congregación: interceder por el pueblo de Dios ante Dios.
Esta función también el padre o la madre encargada del hogar debe hacer con los miembros de su familia. Cuando alguien de la familia se encuentre en un momento de lucha espiritual o está pasando por un tiempo de debilidad, o simplemente necesita que alguien ore por ellos, el que es cabeza del hogar puede orar por la persona en el Nombre del Señor e interceder por su familia, declarando restauración y sanidad.
Gálatas 6:1-2 dice: “Hermanos, en caso de que alguien se encuentre enredado en alguna transgresión, ustedes que son espirituales restauren al tal con espíritu de mansedumbre, considerándote a ti mismo, no sea que tú también seas tentado. Sobrelleven los unos las cargas de los otros y de esta manera cumplirán la ley de Cristo.”

Numbers 18: God Affirms the Priestly Ministry.

Numbers 18:1-7:
Then the Lord said to Aaron: “You and your sons and your father’s house with you shall bear the iniquity related to the sanctuary, and you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity associated with your priesthood. Also bring with you your brethren of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may be joined with you and serve you while you and your sons are with you before the tabernacle of witness. They shall attend to your needs and all the needs of the tabernacle; but they shall not come near the articles of the sanctuary and the altar, lest they die—they and you also. They shall be joined with you and attend to the needs of the tabernacle of meeting, for all the work of the tabernacle; but an outsider shall not come near you. And you shall attend to the duties of the sanctuary and the duties of the altar, that there may be no more wrath on the children of Israel. Behold, I Myself have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel; they are a gift to you, given by the Lord, to do the work of the tabernacle of meeting. Therefore you and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood for everything at the altar and behind the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood to you as a gift for service, but the outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”

Yesterday we looked at the miracle that God did to establish the priestly ministry of Aaron before the people so that they would no longer doubt.
Aaron's rod blossomed and was placed inside the ark of the covenant, along with the manna and the tablets of the law.

In this chapter the Lord affirms and reestablishes the great responsibility that the priest has bearing the faults of the people.
The people were frightened by so much mortality that was occurring in the town because of the rebellion against God. That is why God affirmed to them that the means for them not to be destroyed was to go to the priest so that he would offer forgiveness for them with the appropriate sacrifices.
As they rejected Aaron and this caused their death; now they had to understand that God placed Aaron with a purpose, and it is so that they would not die every time they sinned against the Lord because they had an intercessor so that the people would not perish because of sin.
Also the Lord established the Levites as a gift from God to the people; He did this so that the Levites themselves see their great responsibility before God, remembering that they belong to the Lord and also so that the people respect and care for them.
That is why God showed them how they would be sustained, with the sacrificial offerings and with the tithes of the crops. In this way they would be dedicated to be able to intercede for the sins of the people continuously in the tabernacle.

Today we have the way open! The way of life and truth, the way to the redemption of our sins! Now, each preacher becomes a priest who leads us to repentance and forgiveness of our sins when he speaks to us about Jesus Christ.
Just as the priest would carry the burdens of the people and their offenses before God, Jesus Christ did it when He carried our faults as we can read in Hebrews 4:15: “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”

And that is the job of the pastor in the congregation: to intercede for the people of God before God.
This function also the father or mother in charge of the home must do with the members of their family. When someone in the family is in a moment of spiritual struggle, or is going through a time of weakness, or simply needs someone to pray for them, the head of the household can pray for the person in the Name of the Lord and intercede for their family, declaring restoration and healing.
Galatians 6:1-2 says: “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
