David's commentary: "So as we reinforce this idea that this state of mind which is pure holiness, is salvation - is the answer to every question that has ever been asked, is asked, and will be asked - this leads us far beyond any experience of guilt. In this beautiful lesson, Jesus is playing with the idea of guilt. He playfully asks, 'If guilt is hell, what is its opposite?' - and then comes into say: 'the hesitation you may feel in answering is not due to the ambiguity of the question; but do you believe that guilt is hell?' The assumption is NOT that guilt is hell, because Jesus says, 'If you did (- meaning, if you did believe that guilt is hell -), you would see at once how direct and simple the text is and you would not need a workbook at all. No one needs practice to gain what is already his.' --All that just from one realization that guilt is hell; because hell is not attractive; and guilt is not attractive. But if there's an attraction to guilt, then there's an attraction to hell. This lesson, 'My holiness is my salvation,' provides the answer to EVERYTHING, because holiness can have no opposite. God has no opposite. Divine Love has no opposite. The purity of the innocence of holiness stands inviolate, untarnished, eternal, and thus it is salvation. Holiness is healing. Healing does not involve the body. Holiness - healing - is a state of mind. And also holiness knows not of attack. Holiness knows not of judgement. This is the healing of the Holy Spirit. As we just read in the text, the Holy Spirit still holds knowledge safe in your mind through His IMPARTIAL perception. By attacking nothing, He presents no barrier to the communication of God. Therefore Being is never threatened. Your childlike, Godlike mind can NEVER be defiled. The Christ, the living Son of God, the living Child of God, can never be defiled. This is holiness. This is salvation. So as we just read recently in the message of the crucifixion: 'Teach only love for that is what you are.' We are teaching holiness, for that is what we are. And he said, 'This is the one lesson that is perfectly unified, because it's the only lesson that is one. Only by teaching it can you learn.' So today we will teach, we will extend holiness. We will EXPERIENCE holiness. Our holiness encompasses EVERYTHING that we perceive. Our personality, our specific situations, events - they're all associated with unloving thoughts. And deep within, beyond these thoughts, is our holiness. We extend our holiness as a blessing, and accept it today as our salvation. Amen."
