In July 2012, UN Special Rapporteur on adequate housing Miloon Kothari spoke on the right to adequate housing as part of Simon Fraser University?s Public Square speaker series. In 2000, Mr. Kothari was appointed the first Special Rapporteur on adequate housing as a component of the right to an adequate standard of living. His mandate ended in 2008.
