Valentines Day was chosen by a local manufacturer of cardiovascular surgery equipment to hold groundbreaking at the site of their new building.
CardioQuip was founded in 2003 by brothers in law Doug Platt and Allen Pate.
In the last year and a half, employment has grown from 10 to 20.
Speakers at the groundbreaking also included representatives of the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation, the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce, Brazos County, and the city of College Station.
CardioQuip's new building is at the Aggieland Business Park, west of Easterwood Airport and north of FM 60.
