We all endure it. Most of the time it's not by choice. The turning points in our life are moments when the next decision made is set free because it opens the path for you to live a new way upon a path you might not recognize. My sister's heart attack this week was a huge turning point in her life. Her victories to this point were all centered around being sober for a couple of decades. Now she has a new page to add to that journey. Not only is she a survivor of setting alcohol aside but now she's been infected and affected by her body breaking down in places that could've taken her life. Something as simple as adding God to your daily diet can be a huge turning point. I didn't realize that going public with my spiritual walk would cost me lifelong friends. For many it's not easy to be around religious minded individuals. A good friend said it's because my openness makes them feel guilty about their dammed up emotions and expressions. I'm not out to save anyone. I'm not going to lay my hands on you and shout, "Heal!" This totally goes against the majority of the belief systems. We're always supposed to be ready to reel in new fish. That's no my turning point. I'm not even new at this Good Word way of living. I've been strong with my faith the entire way. I just didn't talk about it. It was the way we lived back home in Montana. The official family rule book vividly stated that we don't discuss politics and religion. To this day my mother won't touch the subjects and she's a strong woman of God! None of us are as empty as we feel. We only act like we're blind. Your eyes hold the elements that make up the world. When you're asked to clean your desk and leave your place of business that's a turning point. Falling in love is a turning point. So is the act of setting aside a blog and stepping outside to enjoy the rising of a new sun. Learning to not only expect but respecting our turning points is a struggle. Mainly because we have a vision of who we think we are. It's not that we're wrong. We just don't want to step free of the comfort zone. When those turning points take place that's when we begin to struggle with the idea of having to eat, dress, accept and or leg go of things a new way. The turning points won't go unnoticed.
