Christina submitted a MHH request in hopes to help her family. Christina was a receptionist at a law firm, but she was laid off on March 20th. Her husband Memo is a school bus driver for the city, however, due to the closures of all the schools for the rest of the academic year, he has been laid off as well. They have 3 kids, 2, 12 & 9 and also help take care of their 15 year-old-niece. Due to some family issues, Christina may also have to take on the responsibility of her sister’s newborn baby, they are in the process of applying and getting approved for emergency placement. At this point in time, they are not receiving any income, and they’ve already had to sell one of their cars for money.

As a result of covid-19, a lot of people have been laid off from their jobs, not knowing when they’ll be able to work again. Or have lost their jobs completely.
