What is their calling? I'm going to talk about Old Testament, New Testament, and how you can learn how to operate in the prophetic. All can prophesy. Yup! ALL. Paul was correcting the Corinthians how to operate in order. The love chapter was to show that all gifts need to operate by love- in faith. Because in the very next chapter- Paul says this..

Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (1 Corinthians 14:1)

For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. (1 Corinthians 14:2)

But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation. (1 Corinthians 14:3)

 

Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying. (1 Corinthians 14:5)

For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted; (1 Corinthians 14:31)

It's all about order here and correcting misperceptions about the gifts.
