With the advent of video and live streaming, some business owners are wondering whether or not they should start a blog, or abandon their blogging efforts completely if they have one already. Well, before you make any drastic decisions, let me share 3 reasons why blogging is not only relevant, but a key marketing tactic that can grow your business.

1) There is value in developing your voice via writing. Writing is something that everyone doesn’t have the ability to do. However, have you ever noticed that the whole world loves and respects people who are authors? A well written book that solves a problem can be your entryway to a larger audience. However, if you want to have a book that people want to read, you have to have something to say. Blogging is a great way to develop your writing voice in addition to finding topics that engage your audience.

2) SEO still matters. SEO — or search engine optimization — is the formula used for finding what you write online. Let’s use an example. Let’s say you want to know how to become a runner. So you go onto Google and you type in the words — “how to become a runner.” What happens is that you are left with millions of web pages that give you weekly running plans and special tips on how to become the runner you want to be. Now let’s be more specific. Maybe you want to know how to run after healing from an injury. Or maybe you want to know how to run your first marathon. All of these specific words and phrases will bring up a different set of search results in Google. The way they are found is via keywords that are used in the title and body of your blog posts. So the more you write on your area of expertise, the more likely your audience will be able to find you.

3) You still need to have a web home to house your content. I love social media just as much as the next person. However, you and I have no control over FB, Instagram, Twitter, or any other social media platform. So you can create all this great content for other sites, however if your content somehow disappears, or you are unable to get into your account for 30 days (this happens often in FB for some business owners), then what good was it, really? The great thing about having your own blog is that you have a permanent space for your customers to search and retrieve anything you write. You can also repurpose your blog posts to create videos for Youtube, short Twitter posts, FB messages to your community, ebooks, print books and other products you can package for sale.

So you see blogging adds a wealth of value to your business growth. If you are ready to create your own content strategy that attracts the kind of customers you want to work with, then go to DigitalWellPublisher.com/contentcreationstrategy to download my Content Creation Strategy Template. This guide will give you a shortcut to creating content that attracts and engages your ideal client.

Until tomorrow, I dare you to be loud, be proud, and take your business center stage.
