Often business owners talk about how well they feature in a competitive space and online marketing. However, they may not focus on their competitors and instead concentrate on how well their business is doing. True enough, but unless you benchmark your business against others in your industry, you may not know how digitally advanced you are in all areas. Benchmarking will help you set goals to at least match or surpass your competitors in the digital space. It will also allow you to potentially pick up a few great ideas from the competition and execute them better.
