Love & Chicken Sandwich: A Piazza Navona Story

Story Transcript:
It: Marco e Sofia erano felicemente sdraiati sull'erba al centro di Piazza Navona, circondati dalle bambole di Bernini.
En: Marco and Sofia were happily lying on the grass in the center of Piazza Navona, surrounded by Bernini's dolls.

It: Improvvisamente un grido lacerante si levò dall'altra parte della piazza.
En: Suddenly a piercing cry arose from across the square.

It: "Ma che diavolo?
En: "What the hell?!"

It: " urlò Marco, saltando in piedi.
En: shouted Marco, jumping to his feet.

It: Sofia lo trattenne, "calma Marco, sembra che sia solo una pagnotta urlatrice.
En: Sofia held him back, "calm down Marco, it looks like it's just a screaming loaf of bread."

Guardarono nella direzione del suono e videro la pagnotta che si agitava furiosamente.

It: Senza un'idea migliore, Marco e Sofia decisero di avvicinarsi alla pagnotta per scoprire di cosa avesse bisogno.

En: He took a biscuit out of the picnic basket and handed it to the loaf.

It: Gli occhi della pagnotta si allargarono quando notò un piccolo volto nel biscotto che la guardava.
En: The loaf's eyes widened as she noticed a small face in the cookie looking down at her.

It: "È amore a prima vista!
En: "It's love at first sight!"

It: " gridò la pagnotta, le braccia agitandosi all'aria.
En: cried the loaf, arms flailing in the air.

It: La morale della storia fu quindi che l'amore può essere sorprendente e confuso, ma le situazioni strane possono portare a risultati eccezionali se ci si impegna tutti insieme.
En: The moral of the story then was that love can be surprising and confusing, but strange situations can lead to extraordinary results if we all work together.

It: Infatti, Marco e Sofia condivisero con la pagnotta il loro panino di pollo, e niente fu più dolce di quello.
