Luke 23 describes the trial and execution of Jesus. It begins with Jesus being brought before Pontius Pilate, the governor of Judea, who finds no fault in him. However, the Jewish religious leaders and crowds demand his crucifixion. As a result, Pilate sentences Jesus to be crucified, and he is mocked, beaten, and eventually led to Golgotha, where he is crucified between two criminals. Finally, Jesus dies on the cross and is buried in a tomb.
