In Luke 20, Jesus is once again confronted by the religious leaders who question his authority. He responds with a parable about vineyard tenants who kill the owner's son, describing the leaders as the tenants and predicting their demise. The leaders then try to trap him by asking about paying taxes to Caesar, but he cleverly responds by telling them to give to Caesar what is Caesar's and God what is God's. The Sadducees then try to disprove the concept of resurrection by presenting a scenario involving a woman who married seven brothers, but Jesus proves their argument wrong. He then warns the people to beware of the teachers of the law and to follow his teachings instead.
