Hebrews 12 encourages believers to persevere in faith and to fix their eyes on Jesus, who is the author and perfecter of their faith. The chapter begins with a call to throw aside all sin and run the race of faith with endurance, remembering that God disciplines those he loves. It encourages readers to endure hardship with the right perspective, realizing that it builds endurance and produces the fruit of righteousness.
