Hebrews 10 encourages readers to maintain their faith and trust in God. In the first half of the chapter, the writer emphasizes the superiority of Jesus' sacrifice over the Old Testament sacrifices. The writer reminds readers that Christ's sacrifice was once for all and that through His sacrifice, believers can have access to God. The second half of the chapter encourages believers to persevere in their faith, not forsaking their beliefs as the Day of Judgment draws closer. Finally, the writer closes with a reminder that "the just shall live by faith" and that believers should not shrink back from their faith, but rather, press on towards the promise of eternal life.
