1 John 4 warns of false spirits who do not confess Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. The reality of Jesus Christ coming in the flesh is how we know the love of God. Until we know and believe the love that God has for us, we cannot love God or love others. This knowledge comes from the Holy Spirit that dwells within us and hearing the Gospel with faith. John teaches us how to test the spirits to see whether they are from God. Only the Spirit of God can help us to live the life God has given us to live. It is impossible not to love if we know God and believe the love He has for us.
