This week, on The Parents' Solution, I had an educational conversation with Paul Sambataro. Paul is a retired school psychologist who holds a doctorate in neurobehavioural psychology. He is the author of the books Emotional Budgeting Workbook and The Narrative Cognitive Development. Paul is currently completing other written works entitled The Bi-Polar War and The Autism Revolution. He has also been working in a clinic with children who have severe disabilities.

Paul made a simple, but powerful statement, "When a child acts out, the child is feeling pain."

Sambataro encourages parents to bring the child on board in the solution-finding process. When a parent is working with the child, this lowers the child's anxiety. It is crucial that parents do not give away their authority as support for the child, especially young children as the child is looking to the parent for stability.

Be sure to tune in to this informative podcast episode, as Paul shares more statistically proven advice on how to help children who are acting out as a result of pain.

HBHI is developing online courses (Adult, and 17 and under) for The Emotional Budgeting Workbook providing a page by page explanation and instruction with either hard or digital workbook copy. We expect to have this course available to the public within 6 months with available additional help when requested.

We expect significantly greater positive outcomes for all individuals who complete the course and workbook as we have with our previous clients.

- Paul Sambataro PhD in Neurobehavioral Psychology, retired school psychologist and president of Houston Behavioral Health Institute.
