Does the word "networking" elicit images of sharkskin suit laden used car salesmen and underperforming realtors slinging cards around a table? A scenario where everyone is looking for customers, but no one has any?
There is a right way and a wrong way to network. The goal should be to be trusted, not just known. Becoming another piece of garbage in someone's wallet that will get tossed the next time they clean it out is not growing your influence. What does?
