The Gospels make it clear Jesus is the Messiah, the Suffering Servant, the Lamb of God to be slaughtered for our sins. The Passover Lamb, according to Jewish law, required four (4) days for the chief priest to inspect. (Exodus 12:3-6). Beginning on Nissan 10, four days before Passover, the Lamb was thoroughly inspected for blemishes or defects, for anything that would disqualify it from being an acceptable sacrifice for the people's sins. At the end of the inspection period, the High Priest would publicly declare, Behold the Lamb. I find no fault in him.
Jesus was interrogated (inspected), scrutinized, and challenged by the Chief Priest, Pharisees, Herodians, Sadducees, scribes, and experts in the law in the outer courts of the Temple, and they could find no fault in Him. In the inner courts, Caiaphas, the High Priest that year finding no fault with Him, declared, “it is expedient and better for your own welfare that one man should die on behalf of the people than that the whole nation should be destroyed.” (John 11:50) And on the 14th of Nissan, Passover, Caiaphas arranged for His slaughter on the altar of the cross.
