In this episode we continue studying the Book of Genesis. In this episode two of the kings officers are placed in prison because they "offended" him.

It's believed they conspired to kill him by poisioning him.One will die and the other will resume his service in Pharaoh’s kingdom.

They both have dreams and Jospeh interprets them and they both come to pass. The butler is released but the baker is hung.

After giving the butler a favorable interpretation, Joseph asked the butler to mention him to Pharaoh, so he could get out of the dungeon. He told the butler he was stolen from the land of the Hebrews and had done nothing to deserve being put in prison.

He did not mention his brothers. He blamed the purchasers and not the sellers.

The Ishmaelites, bound him in chains, they saw Josephs fear, panic and distress, they saw his tears, they heard his cries and pleas for mercy, they heard him begging his brothers not to sell him but they ignored it all.

They didn’t have to take him, they didn’t have to buy him, they could have continued on their journey and chosen not to meddle in family affairs but they did not, so theirs was the greater sin.

Joseph has learned not to be an evil reporter, he did not bring an evil report against his brothers to the butler. He didn't even mention the names of his sellers. But he still belived the Ishmalites, were the reason he was in Egypt.

God will continue working with him and he will learn it wasn’t his brothers fault he was in Egypt nor was it the Ishmaleites fault but it was part of God's divine will and plan for his life.

We like to blame people for what’s wrong in our lives. But what if it’s no one’s fault? What if it's all a part of God's will for our final good.

Proverbs 20:24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
