In this episode we continue studying the book of Exodus. In this episode we discover that Moses doesn't want to go back to Egypt because they won't believe God sent him.

So God gave him the power to perform 3 signs. He said, if they didn't believe the first two signs they would believe the "voice" of the third sign.

Sign's have a voice and are given to call forth belief in those who see the signs. Jesus said to the people if you don't believe me, at least believe in the works, that I do.

The Israelites believed the signs Moses performed but God warned Moses that Pharaoh would not believe the signs because he would harden his heart.

We note that Pharaoh’s heart was already hard or otherwise he wouldn’t have dealt so harshly with the Israelites.

But God would make it harder, because sometime during the course of the miracles Pharaoh would let the people go, he would have said, alright you win, go and worship your God but after your 3 days of worship are over, make sure you have them back in Egypt and back to work as usual.

He would let them go so the plagues would stop, resulting in a temporary release.

They would go worship God and go right back to their bondage, nothing would change.

But God was looking to provide them with permanent deliverance and that meant Pharaoh would have to get to the point where he would gladly see them go. So God would have to harden his heart in order to prevent a temporary release.

Moses was told to tell Pharah, "Israel is my son, my firstborn, Let my son go that he may serve me."

Israel is revealed to be God's firstborn son, who received the birthright, he was a sign of his might, his strength, the excellency of his dignity and the excellency of his power among the children of men.

Israel the nation was the firstborn of all the nations. He would serve as a priest unto God for all God's children or shall we say nations.

We note that in the book of Exodus Israel was also called God's congregation.

Here’s the text: Exodus chapter 12 verse 3.

Exodus 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

Strongs says, congregation means, assemblage, generally a family, a crowd, company, a multitude of people.

And this congregation was also called the church in the wilderness in the book of Acts.

Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us.

We also note that the church in the wilderness was filled with people from different races and nationalities. Because they left Egypt with the Israelites when God set them free.

Exodus 12:36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

Exodus 12:37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that weremen, beside children.

Exodus 12:38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

Numbers 11:4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

God was ready to set his congregation free from their bondage. They had served Satan and his human representatives long enough.

Paul reminds who in the following text whose behind our bondage and afflictions.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Yet, God has not forsaken us, he sent Moses to deliver his congregation from their bondage and he's sent Christ to deliver his church, composed of people from every tongue, tribe and nation around the world from their bondage.

Luke 1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

Luke 1:69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

Luke1:70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:

Luke 1:71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

Luke 1:72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

Luke 1:73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,

Luke 1:74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
